Last Chance For Current Prices and Some Changes ‘Round Here…
i’m almost finished with the new pricing and i’m a bit embarrassed/shocked at how little money i’ve been making building drums. new prices are still a relative bargain, but roughly 10% more. place an order before i update the prices online and lock in the old prices.
also, “mlasko quality custom drums” is changing over to “mlasko american classic drums”. i’ve been threatening to do it for a while now and the time feels right. what this means is more traditional designs and less custom/current/trendy stuff. new badges coming soon and a possible overhaul of the site, etc.
thanks for yr interest and support of what we do here.
stay tuned,

‘drum tech day’ at the drum exchange
i’m pleased to have been invited to be a part of ‘drum tech day’ at the drum exchange in wallingford/seattle last weekend. it was really fun to hang with kep and ed and to meet jim. we troubleshot a bunch of drums for grateful folks and had a great time with ed and his wife at their store. long-overdue price increase soon; act now for current/ancient pricing!
happy new year, etc. folks-
well, i haven’t changed my prices for years and i really, really need to now. they’re currently about 1/2 of what a dw or comparable drum’s retail price was several years ago and materials and shipping and everything else keeps getting more expensive… so, consider this a promotion of sorts that will likely save you a significant amount of money; i’ll be honoring the current price list till the first day of spring/march 20th, 2010.
also, expect some other changes around here… i’ve been giving a lot of thought to the direction of the company in our 15th year and without ruining the “surprise”, i’ll just say that mlasko drums is going to mean something a little more specific than the current “custom” nomenclature. i’m excited about it, and i think most folks who love drums will be too.
all this to say, order up some custom drums at bargain prices ASAP! and look for something special coming up here soon.
best,

merry christmas and happy new year, etc. !!!
hey folks. my site has been acting kinda weird the last couple months. buddy paul finally got it sorted for me today. thanks a million, paul! just wanted to wish everybody some happy holidays and stuff. this year was a difficult one for this company as well as a lot of other folks i know. i guess if yr reading this, we made it thru. i also turn 37 yrs old today, so it’s been a day of reflection. i’m excited to see what the new year holds for mlasko drums as well as my personal life. i’m playing drums more than i have in quite a while, and that’s been a good thing. i just wanted to share some words of encouragement with anyone reading this; it’s all gonna work out, somehow. thanks for yr support and let’s keep doing what we do as well as we can. things can always be worse, but let’s expect them to get better. different, i’m sure, but better. a.m.

1950’s style mlasko drumset for sale!
mlasko quality custom drums in very gretschy midnight blue pearl. slingerland lugs and sticksaver hoops, classic t-rods and claws on bass drum which has 8 lugs on each side! -sounds incredible… inlayed b.d. hoops, aquarian modern vintage heads througout (very calf-like sound and feel), vintage tinted sealer on interiors and edges, no air vent grommets on toms, gretsch roundbadge outside roundover edges on toms, lug springs left un-packed like vintage drums (can be packed if it bugs you)… way-cool retro 50’s vibe! –a rockabilly dream-kit:
9×13 8 ply maple tom
16×16 8 ply maple tom w/ retro legs
14×22 8 ply maple kick w/ retro spurs
$1999, o.b.o.

retro-grouch strikes again!
…once upon a time, there was a fancy-pants modern kick drum. it was made quite nicely in japan, but due to unfortunate trends in modern music where questionable sense of aesthetic dictates the norm, it was born as an 18×22. gorgeous historic gretschy tangerine glass glitter could not make up for it’s inherent handicap. it looked a bit silly and was hard to tune and transport. a well-meaning fella purchased it and eventually brought it to aaron for some major soul-surgery. our hero proceeded to spend a few hours on it with assorted gruesome instruments, and voila! –a way cooler version of a 22″ drum that will serve it’s wise owner for a long time. THE END
the moral of the story, dear listeners, is that refined ideas will always have more authentic style and function than trendy ones.
(semi-apologies for the sarcasm, but i’m happy to convert things like this for you. happy new year to y’all, aaron mlasko)

Fall 2008
hey gang. just an update for y’all. i’ve been touring quite a bit with the presidents of the united states of america! it’s been pretty great. europe 3 times already this summer… lots of jet lag and lack of sleep, but often fun. great bunch of fellas. come out and see the rock show if we’re in yr town!
anyway, the touring is infrequent enuff that i’m home building drums and working on records about 1/2 the time, which is good for everybody. if you’ve been wanting a custom drum (or drums) or have a recording session coming up, give a call and we’ll try to getcha on the calendar!
much aloha,
aaron mlasko
