Looks like our flounder will be out on the road (European roads, actually) with Jason Finn and the Presidents of the United States of America this Summer. Be nice and he may bring you back an Eifel Tower key chain!

Cocktail Drums!!!
hey gang. i recently built my first cocktail drum and it turned out incredible! 24×16 8 ply maple main drum with a 4×12 6 ply maple snare drum. antique white marine pearl finish. slingerland lugs and hoops. fixed hi-hat and cymbal attatchments… way groovy hep kat cool! pricing somwhere in the $1000 range. nicest cocktail drum y’all have prolly ever seen or played. pics coming soon! -and happy new year everyone!!!
Gibraltar hardware packages now available!
after years of hunting down gibraltar parts to build my drums with, i finally have an oem dealership with a major music wholesaler. what a relief! they now supply me with things like bass drum spurs and mounting brackets as well as remo drumheads and a variety of other drumset-related doo-dads. this is a really good thing, as my prices for these items are much lower now and i don’t have to raise my drum prices quite yet, as i was fearing. also, i can provide my drums with complete or partial hardware packages at a great price! hooray!!! call today for a quote. cheers, a.m.
new addition to the studio rental stable…
just added a new snare drum to the studio rental arsenal here: scott mercado’s (candlebox) 5×14 1920’s slingerland c.o.b. hit-making snare used on multi-platinum tunes “far behind” and “you”, among others. heavy nickel-plated brass shell with tube lugs, straight-flange brass hoops and clips. –killer!
there are quite a few really bitchin’ drums available for yr next session; 6.5×14 ludwig supraphonic from alan white (yes), 5×14 ludwig bronze previously yuri ruley’s (mxpx), 4×14 nsmd engraved black beauty previously owned by matt chamberlain… the list goes on and on and…
when i’m not touring i make my living building custom drums and working on records as a tech (see “clients” page). when i go to these sessions, i often bring a selection of killer snare drums with me. i’ve got access to pretty much anything you might want; black beauties, radio kings, blah blah blah…
gimmee a call when you need yr drums to sound amazing on yr record and i’ll see what i can do.
cheers,
aaron mlasko

Donn Bennett Drum Studios “Drum Hang”
Friday was one of the coolest days i’ve had in a while. Got to hang with John “Not So Modern Drummer” Aldridge and basically had a 3 hr. one-on-one demonstration of the almost-dead art of black beauty engraving. Don’t hold yr breath, but i learned A LOT and may dip my toe in those sacred waters… Thanks to Donn Bennett for such a great day of drums, drummers and coolness. Check out his vintage drum collection at his store before it’s all gone… Donn Bennett Drum Studios in Bellevue 425.747.6145. later taters, A.M.
Wild About MQCD Black Beauty Snares!
Well, the response has been very positive since we introduced the black beauties on March 1st. We’ve built up 5×14’s and 6.5×14’s and both are extremely cool! Other depths and diameters are available, as well as options with hoops and throw-offs. All models have a black chrome-plated brass shell with a center bead and vintage style tube lugs. 5×14 is $385 and 6.5×14 is $395. A lot of drum for the money! Delivery times well under 30 days. –Let us build one up for you today!
